We have been chosen by the Marion Hy-Vee store director to receive the funds from the reusable bag and giving tag program for the month of December. $1.00 from each my heart environmental shopping bag sold at the Marion Hy-Vee store will benefit MPL. The bags retail for $2.50.  If you shop at another Hy-Vee location, you can still support us by using the Giving Tag. Join us for this new, ongoing program! Geared toward ages 2-5, all are welcome. These programs will include elements of music, movement and story. On a given day, we may play some parachute games, use stretchy bands, explore noise & music props or take a look at some flannel board stories.  Accomodations made for those with sensory issues: we'll have noise-canceling headphones, picture schedules and fidgets available.

Our Morning Genealogy Junkies group provides an opportunity for anyone interested in genealogy to get together with peers to learn and to share research tips and tricks. The group meets on Thursday morning each week. Bring a laptop or tablet computer, or check out one of the library's laptops from the Information Desk. Explore our online resources such as Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest, Fold3, and our historical newspapers. Everyone is welcome! Join us for a fun and social story time geared especially for children ages 0-18 months. We'll read a story and then do bounces and songs to get your baby's mind and body working. We'll then allow everyone to wind down and socialize while playing with fun early literacy toys. This program usually runs about 15-30 minutes.

Make It Thursday is a crafting and experimenting extravanganza just for middle and high schoolers. On the second and fourth Thursday of the month, drop into the Teen Space between 4-5pm to see what you can make. It's all free! All materials provided!

"Knot" your average knitting group. All ages and skill levels welcome. Exchange ideas, patterns, yarn, and needles. Knit Wits meets on Thursday evenings. Come share your “purls” of wisdom!
