Here are a few notes on our fine free initiative:  This is a shared vision among all 3 Metro Library Network libraries. Research shows that overdue fines don’t motivate people to return their materials. When libraries are fine free, more materials overall are returned. Also, more people get library cards and use the library. We will still charge for items that aren’t returned at all but won’t penalize anyone for returning materials late.

We are so pleased to be able to offer Playaway audio books to our patrons, starting Monday, November 4th. What is a Playaway, you ask? It’s an audio book that requires no WiFi, no CD player, no paid subscription, and no downloads. You simply put a AAA battery in the top of the Playaway, plug in your headphones, and you can listen to your audio book. Playaways are small, perfect to take on your run; tuck into your pocket when you’re walking the dog  or getting your to-do list done at home.
